Medical Grade Epoxy

Eb 130m 1

EB-130M-1

The refractive index (Index of refraction; Nd) is the measurement of the speed of light through a sample or substance. The number given as the refractive index is a ratio of the speed of light in a vacuum to the speed of light through the sample. The refractive index of most unfilled epoxies is between 1.5 and 1.6 in liquid form. The cured Nd is generally 0.03 higher.

EB-130M-1 is a low viscosity, USP-Class VI certified epoxy system that is not hazardous for shipping. Used in disposable cardiac catheters as an epoxy base for backing material, EB-130M-1 can be loaded with several different fillers and additives to accommodate different applications. On its own, EB-130M-1 is used to encapsulate small electronics and as a matching layer in acoustic technology. EB-130M-1 has a refractive index of 1.53 and a transmittance of over 99% at visible light.EB-130M-1 can be used to encapsulate LEDs, as a capillary undefill, and as a clear coating.
