EB-316M
Epoxy Adhesive for cryogenic applications
EB-316M
Many epoxies exhibit great performance at ambient and elevated temperatures. Even at lower temperatures most epoxies can perform adequately. With proper curing and surface preparation, EB-316M has a lap shear strength on aluminum of over 2500psi at -196°C (-320°F). Compared to standard epoxies such as 3M DP-460 or DP-420, EB-316M has far superior performance at cryogenic temperatures.
EB-316M is a 2-part, semi-flexible, room temperature epoxy adhesive. EB-316M is a semi-thixotropic material exhibiting extremely high bond strengths to metals, rubbers, glass, and many plastics.Used in a variety of industries including aerospace, industrial, and medical device, EB-316M is ideal for bonding and sealing dissimilar substrates. EB-316M is used as a high strength wire bond in gyroscopes of navigation units for aerospace components where temperatures can range from over 100°C to below -20°C. EB-316M also used to bond rubber sheaths around cast iron pipes that are exposed to temperatures above 250°C.
