Soft, flexible epoxies used for crack resistance and low stress
Most epoxies, when cured, create a hard and rigid product prone to cracking and inducing stress on delicate components. While other chemistries such as silicones or polyurethanes can provide softer polymers, they lack the advantages of epoxy systems including water resistance and mechanical strength.
EB-109M-4 was developed by Epoxyset as a softer, more flexible epoxy to give the mechanical strengths of epoxy while inducing lower stress delicate components. EB-109M-4 is part of a series of products by Epoxyset to solve the issue of extremely rigid epoxy systems. This product is used for its electrical isolation properties and its low viscosity allowing for filling small gaps and to backfill empty spaces. EB-109M-4 can even replace standard silicone lens materials in medical imaging systems.
