EB-260
What will epoxy stick to?
EB-260
It is one of the biggest questions facing engineers and application designers – What will epoxy not stick to?Epoxy adhesives are great for bonding almost anything including most metals, ceramics, glass, wood, even certain rubbers and plastics. However, most standard commercial epoxy adhesives cannot bond certain substrates easily such as PVC, ABS, nylon, acrylics etc. These substrates require activation of the surface so adhesives can be more readily used. One such method is metalizing these plastics. This is a method for metalizing hard to plate plastics without the need for chromic acid or mechanical etching. Plastics that can be treated in such a way that would be very difficult by other methods include PEEK, Nylon, Acetal, and new polymers such as direct digital manufacturing Ultem® and UV curable SLA materials.
EB-260 is a 2 part, toughened, medium viscosity epoxy adhesive designed especially for high strength industrial bonding applications. EB-260 has much higher strength to many plastics such as PVC, ABS, PEEK, and Ultem® even without treatment. While surface activation always helps, EB-260 can provide shear strengths of over 1700psi to those plastics without treatment.
